Yes: It's not clear why, but a person can develop peanut allergy as a child, teen or adult. Even if a person has tolerated peanuts for years, a peanut allergy can develop. It's been found now that avoiding peanut in the diet of infants/children for the first few years will not prevent the development of peanut allergy. Something about "roasted" peanuts make them more allergenic than boiled or fried.
