A member asked:

What advice can you offer for someone with non-allergic rhinitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Avoid irritants: The cause of non-allergic rhinitis is often nasal irritants like strong odors, perfume, car & bus exhausts, even cooking odors. Sudden changes in environmental temperature & humidity can also trigger symptoms. Alcohol - especially wine - may increase nasal congestion. Nasal sprays that are most effective are: ipratropium, astelin, Astepro & patanase. Talk to your pa or np about these.
