Several: Allergic skin rashes can be caused by: contact dermatitis from poison ivy, rubber, nickel, fragrance, make up, preservatives, etc. Contact hives is hives that occur with direct contact with an allergy--spilled food or saliva from the lick of a pet. The "cure" is avoidance of the particular allergen trigger. Barrier creams or ointments are partially effective. Medications treat symptoms.
