Call dentist ASAP: They will want you to either place it in your mouth (under your tongue) but careful not to swallow it. ---or---- place it in milk or a specific tooth knock out vial available at pharmacies. Depending on the age of patient, condition of tooth, severity of the trauma and region that the tooth came out of, tooth re-implantation may be successful.

Tooth knocked out.: When a tooth is completely knocked out and the root is fully intact, rinse the tooth but avoid touching the root. It is important not to scrub any blood or tissue from the root. This may sound hard to do but, reimplant the clean tooth into the socket and hold in place with gauze. Contact your dentist immediately. If at any time the person loses consciousness seek medical attention first.
