Many things: Rashes are common in babies and can be from many things. If you notice them more on one area of the body, think about things that touched that area like clothing...For example it may be a sensitivity to the detergent or soap used. Rashes that are all over are common even with simple viruses. However, for very young babies (<3 months) or any signs of illness (fever, poor appetite, etc) see a dr!

Baby rash: Rashes in children can have many causes. If it feels dry and itchy, it could indicate contact dermatitis. If, they are filled with fluids, it could indicate infection etiology. Rashes need always to be checked by your primary care doctor to help make the diagnosis.
