Dryness or allergies: Eye irritation in the absence of other symptoms can be from eye straining from overuse of computers, reading small print, etc, or dry eyes. The possibility of eye allergies exists if nasal symptoms are associated. Sinus problems usually result from allergies.

Sounds like dry eyes: Burning eyes are usually caused by dry eyes, which can also make the eyes blurred. This can in turn lead to eye strain. Lubricating eye drops (artificial tears) should improve the symptoms within a day. If the eyes are still uncomfortable, see an eye doctor.
