Infection possible: You may have developed an infection. The white bump on the gums may be a drainage site(fistula) from an abcess related to one of your teeth. Pain is one way that it expresses itself but itching many be due to the inflammation. No different that a pimple or bite. Get to the dentist to check this white sore.

Possible infection?: It could be an infection, so therefore have it checked out as soon as possible by a dentist. Although it could be something else, and may not even need any treatment, it's better to be safe than sorry. You don't want to take the chance on a much more serious flare-up, especially during the night or the weekend when no dentist is available to help resolve the issue.
