Without bending : The purpose of the surgical shoe is to disperse the weight more evenly and prevent you from bending the foot. Its a little awkward, but you will get used to it. You need to just keep your foot flat when you walk. Dont expect to walk heel - toe as you would normally.

Walking: Do not over tight it, avoid weight or pressure to the operated area, walk slower and put more weight to the non-operated foot. At the beginning is ok to use a walker or a cane to avoid falling.
