Had lower back problems for years can it affect a knee injury 2 years ago where i still feel dull ache pain in my knee ?

It may but it is : Unlikely if the knee pain is unrelated to your back symptoms or is isolated to the knee and the pain is affected by knee activity rather than back involved activities. If the symptoms warrant it, see an orthopedic surgeon for an evaluation.
