Clear airway: The sneezing and coughing is the way your baby gets the mucus out of her nose and out of her chest. The mucus itself is part of the bodies way to defend itself against the attack from either a viral or bacterial infection. By patting the baby's back and using a bulb syringe to help clear the nose, you can make things easier for her.

Doubt it's a cold: The first months are troubled by narrow nasal passages & exposure to dust, fragrances, smoke & other irritants makes them congested.Baby tries to flush these out of the nose with mucous but this often ends as congestion & produces rattling with breathing. The best rx is washing out the nose with saline & suctioning the remainder. Eliminate irritants from babies environment & this will happen less
