Start with tums (calcium carbonate): You can start with Tums or another antacid like it. If that doesn't help, try pepcid (famotidine). If you are still having heartburn, talk to your doctor about prescription medications. Generics here are just fine. You can also try eating smaller, more frequent meals and avoid spicy foods or whatever makes your heartburn worse.
