When i wear a beanie hat or headphones i get a pain in the pinna of my ear. usually only in 1 ear and normally on the right side. why could this be?

Sounds like you are: Pinching one of the superficial nerves around the ear. Try not wearing the beanie for several weeks and using looser earphones or earbuds for a few weeks. Maybe it will be better when you try wearing them down the road.
