A member asked:

Have multiple heart attacks in family history. taking 25mg atenonlol & 81 mg baby aspirin nightly. can i also take advil or ibuprofen for headaches?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: All anti-inflammatory medications increase risk for a cardiovascular event (mi, stroke, death). These risk seems to be associated with higher doses. So it's best if you take the lowest possible dose for a short duration. The other concern with nsaids and Aspirin is increase risk for GI bleed. If you have risk factor for this you have to be cautious and may want to take some zantac (ranitidine) with it.
