Creams& hygiene : You can use clotrimazole1percent cream 3 times a day or lamasil cream twice a day. Be sure to apply it 1 inch beyond the ring of fungus ( it is not a worm) and conitinue application for 5 days after all signs are gone. It is highly contagious. Don't share towels. Once used be sure to put it right into the wash to protect others. If you touch it, wash your hands right away!

Anti fungal : Try Clotrimazole cream (over the counter, sold usually for "athletes foot"). If not better in 5 days see your doctor. May need full month of treatment for it to completely go away.

Topical antifungal: Ring worm is caused by a fungal infection and can be treated with a topical antifungal such as Clotrimazole or ketoconazole. Also helps to use a topical steroid to help with the inflammation and itching. The topical steroid should not be used without the antifungal because the steroid can actually make the fungus proliferate and worsen.

Antifungals: Ringworm is the common term for a fungal I infection involving the skin. The majority of times it can be cleared with topical antifungal medicine. However, if the infection involves the nails or scalp, it often takes a month to 6 weeks of oral antifungal medication to eradicate the infection. You must be compliant with topical meds or you just won't be able to clear up the infection.
