Self control: You probably understand that porn is generally fake, objectifies the victims (usually women), and is done by paid models under controlled conditions in no way reflecting reality. It sounds as though one of your companions is trying to encourage you to indulge - and it seems that you have the maturity to understand reality. Keep up the good work.

12 step and therapy: Hello, the way that I have seen patients overcome an addiction to porn is to join a twelve step group for sex addiction (e.g. Saa or a faith based 12 step group called "celebrate recovery"). The other component is to see a psychologist or other type of therapist to explore what the porn addiction means in the life of that person. How it can be psychologically toxic.
