Differential: The prolonged cough can be for a variety of causes ranging form asthma, chronic post nasal drip or perhaps from reflux of acid from the stomach. There are more less common reasons and perhaps a chest xray is indicated. It may be time to see your physician and perhaps a referral to an allergist or pulmonologist is warranted.
