Not perfect: Considering the information gained relative to cost of the test, an ECG cannot be beat. It gives lots of information about the electrical system of the heart, coronary issues, prior heart attacks, arrhythmias, enlargement, etc. Combined with a good physical exam, it is very powerful. But it's not perfect -- many structural problems and artery blockages do not affect the ecg.
