Yes: Hiv treatment has become far easier and more tolerable to take. If takes care of their health, starts HIV medicines when recommended, and continues to take them regularly, a number of studies show that the life expectancy of a newly infected person is close to that of anyone else. Furthermore, the risk of transmitting HIV to others significantly declines once one's HIV is treated.
