Maybe...: It may be a yeast infection. I would check with your doctor or a dental oral medicine specialist for an evaluation if it does not go away.

Various reasons.: Are you taking medications, such as cold eze (zinc lozenges) or zicam. Certain antibiotics can do this. Also if you have metal tooth restorations (gold & amalgam) you can develop a "battery effect" if the ph of your saliva changes, which can occur when sick. See your physician or dentist for evaluation.
