Fear: Fear - apprehension - stress can lead to an adrenaline surge - which can leave a metallic taste/aftertaste in the mouth.

Very Unusual: Metallic taste in mouth is generally seen with vitamin deficiency, oral infections, injesting certain foods, drug reactions, during medical imaging with contrast injections. I have not heard of it with just the placement of a blood drawing needle, where blood is withdrawn and nothing is injected.
