Not necessary: The treatment of fever is medications such as Acetaminophen (tylenol) or Ibuprofen (advil or motrin). Benadryl (diphenhydramine) d does not contain active ingredients that treat fever. In addition, there can be side effects of the "d" which is a decongestant.
