What is prozac (fluoxetine)?

SSRI antidepresant : Its been around a while now, but pretty revolutionary when it first came out. It is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor most commonly used to treat depression. The ssris were a big step forward due to far less side effects than the tricyclic antidepressants that were the main treatment for depression prior to that.
