Patience: Unfortunately, the acl graft takes around 6-8 months at the earliest to completely incorporate and return to full strength. It means that any time before 8 months, there is a risk of retearing or partially retearing the acl. Recovering from the actual surgery itself is much quicker, and early range of motion and quad strengthening can return you to an excellent baseline function.
