A member asked:

If hgh fails to help a child grow (my 9 yo daughter: ~1cm growth in the last year w/ 1.8 mg nutropin) what are the next steps to try, questions to ask, tests to run, other treatments, genes, etc.?

Peds Endocrine: Assuming she is being followed by a pediatric endocrinologist small stature in a female should have already led to at least some basic genetic testing to rule out turner's syndrome. Even if she is the weight of an average 9 year-old then she is already getting quite a bit of gh. What was her diagnosis to get gh? Have her growth factors been checked during treatment?

Bone age?: I would ask your endocrinologist. Consider a bone age, discussing diagnosis prior to gh treatment and making sure growth factor levels are in therapeutic range.
