Dermatologist: Try vaseline and keep it limited to the outside of your lip and use a minimal amount. You might want to check with a dermatologist regarding possible allergies and other suggestions.

Lips: You can suffer from irritation from using lip balm especially those with flavoring or petroleum based. It can also come from contact with other irritants you may be eating, chewing, or sucking including meds. However, if the inflammation is only on the inner lip, you may be suffering from a form of lichen planis. Common site. No cure just control. Talk to dentist. Research affliction.
