Belly button pain: There can be many different causes of belly button pain. Skin rashes can involve yeast and this dermatitis, herpes simplex virus can cause a painful rash, and bacterial infections can cause pain. If someone is overly cleaning the umbilicus with q-tips and cleansers it can start to hurt. Some serious intestinal problems can refer pain to the belly button so see your doctor if it's not a rash.
