Not recommended: Especially in late pregnancy (third trimester) because of the possibility of increased bleeding. This is true of all nsaids, but mefanemic acid (ponstel) seems to have more of this problem than other drugs like Ibuprofen or naproxen. It is a category c drug (like many if not most drugs) which means it has not been extensively studied. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is a better choice for pain if a med is needed.
