Cholecystitis: Typically right upper abdominal pain as you described would be evaluated with liver lab tests and an ultrasound. I recommend semi-urgent/urgent medical evaluation, especially if you know you have gallstones. If cholecystitis is diagnosed, surgery would likely be recommended. There are other causes which can often be diagnosed with few tests.
