A member asked:

I've been having a lot of abdominal cramping and upset stomachs. are these signs of being lactose intolerant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible: Lactose intolerance results from the inability to fully digest lactose. The sugar is then fermented by bacteria in the intestines which produce excess gas and acidic stool. The acid and osmotic load results in diarrhea. The gas and extra fluid in the bowel cause cramping. So, yes, it is possible.
