The aorta: Your abdominal aorta, the large artery carrying blood from the heart to the abdomen and legs, pulsates with each heartbeat. This can be visible if you are thin, have a lot of adrenaline in your system, or less commonly have a condition that creates a larger pulse pressure (like a leaky heart valve). It can also be a sign of an abdominal aortic aneurysm, so have an exam if you have any pain.
