Does an abdominal mri check for tumors or blockages in the intestines?

Not very well: Mri does not image the intestines well at all. Mri only images organs that are not moving. The intestine is continuously moving (called peristalsis) and becomes blurred on most MRI scans. Abdominal mr usually is used for imaging the solid intra abdominal organs. Mr does not have the temporal or spatial resolution to see intestinal blockages or tumors.
