A member asked:

I've had my period for the last 2 (almost 3) months now, what the heck is going on?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hormonal imbalance: Extended cycles (barring retained placenta or miscarriage) are usually imbalance between your natural estrogen and progesterone. If you are overweight, your estrogen levels are usually out of proportion to your Progesterone levels. High estrogen levels cause endometrial lining (what sheds in the period) to become very thick and inadequate Progesterone causes inability for endometrial instability.
