Undercooked meat: Tapeworm (cestode) infection usually occurs when a person eats undercooked meat. Rarely, they can be ingested by eating contaminated food or water. To diagnose a tapeworm a special test can be ordered to look at your stool. Many people who have tapeworms do not have symptoms. Not all tapeworms need to be treated. Your doctor can review your specific recommnedatons with you.

Tape worm: Humans can catch some types of worms by touching contaminated feces ; then putting their hands near their mouth. They may swallow food or water containing feces. They could also become infected by eating raw contaminated pork, beef or fish.
