For instance, advanced may be used to say it is locally aggressive; metastatic advanced disease could mean it is all over the body. Usually, the cancer tumor burden for widely disseminated and advanced disease is not something the body can handle for months on end.

Yes, for a time: Patients with advanced metastasized cancers often are not in relatively good health because of both disease and treatment factors. But many patients at some point in their disease have periods that they feel well and are able to do things that they are looking forward to. This can last a while or be short lived depending often on the type of cancer and where it has spread to.
