A member asked:

Do all frenectomies require the use of sutures?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Frenulectomy: I like to use the absorbable sutures i. Order to ensure that the cut edges do not bleed. There is usually a small vessel that sits in the edge of the mucosa. Usually this procedure is done on young kids and the child and the young parents would get terrified if there was any bleeding post op. Plus the area heals better and faster with sutures. Good luck! hope that helped.
