How do doctors stabilize a plunging heart rate in an emergency situation?

Drugs & Electricity: If someone's heart rate is going too low to support a normal BP and/or consciousness, then medicines such as Atropine or Epinephrine can be given. Also, a temporary, external (electrical) pacemaker can be applied to the chest wall to stimulate the heart to beat at a rate set by the dr.
