Many options: Antibiotics alone often don't heal chronic lyme. A comprehensive holistic approach is needed. There must be some doctors capable of helping- keep searching. There are many useful books like healing lyme by buhner, lyme disease solution by singleton, top ten lyme disease treatments by rosner, a huge amount of online support groups & information. There are great homeopaths in holland who can help.

Cardiologist: Your friend needs to be evaluated by cardiologist to rule out cardiac damage from lyme diseases.

Few I'm afraid: Lyme disease in advanced stages is difficult to treat. Carefully designed, placebo-controlled studies have failed to demonstrate that prolonged antibiotic therapy is beneficial. Although isolated success stories are always good to hear, such reports alone are not sufficient grounds to support a therapeutic approach.
