Ingrown hair: As long as it has not developed into a large pus pocket, you may carefully try to free the entraped hair by cleansing with rubbing alcohol and using a sterilized needle to unroof the trapped hair. If this does not work or if there is significan infection, then you should see a doctor.

Ingrown hair: Ingrown hair on the face and body may be treated by different modalities. Facial hair in a man who may want to grow a beard in the future should not be treated by laser hair removal but others have laser hair removal and electrolysis for this stubborn problem. Pseudofolliculitis barbae of the beard hair needs to have the curved hairs lifted out of the skin. See a dermatologist.
