Neck/shoulder pain: Each has its advantages. Personally, i would get x-ray & exam from orthopedic specialist.

Age old Debate: This is an age old debate. Orthopedic surgeons and chiropractors are trained very differently. Having said that, i know and respect many chiropractors, and use them frequently for some of my patients. For the initial diagnosis, i would recommend seeing a orthopedic cervical spine specialist.
