See your doctor: Your doctor will ask you different questions regarding your symptoms. Your doctor will also ask you how long you have been having these symptoms. Your doctor may also check blood work for your thyroid (because underactive thyroid may cause or contribute to depression). Keep in mind there is no test to diagnose depression, so aswering the questions honestly is the best coarse of action.

Good doctor: There are no "easy" diagnoses. Do you mean "quick?" a proper diagnosis of depression is made through the use of questionnaire data and the clinical interview.
