Why is it that scented tampons/pads are bad for you?

Allergic potential: Scented tampons do not have enough scent to actually change the scent once used. There are no scent receptors in that region of the body so why bother. It is an additional chemical exposure which could produce an allergic reaction in a few. So why bother when it doesn't matter.?
