Does the pancreas treat olestra fatty acids similar to traditional fats/oils? is the amount of enzymes produced the same in both cases?

No.: Lipase is the pancreatic enzyme that splits (hydrolyzes) triglycerides in oils into fatty acids and monoglycerides. Lipase does not act on olestra, so olestra leaves the digestive tract undigested. This is why olestra has no usable calories. I do not know the answer to the question about degree of stimulation of lipase secretion by olestra vs. Other fats/oils.
