Uncertain: I have heard claims about oscillococcinum & have intended to try it but have no personal experience with it as yet. Zinc lozenges, airborne/generic, elderberry, astragalus, echinacea all seem to have beneficial effects against flu if taken at very onset of flu or as a preventive. [caution: do not use zinc nasal gel (zicam): there have been reported cases of irreversible loss of smell with its use].

Oscillococcinum: In my experience as a homeopathic physician treating people, yes it does. But you have to take it when you first notice symptoms, not several days later. (similar to conventional flu meds, by the way). Cochrane reviews was lukewarm about it: "our findings do not rule out the possibility that oscillococcinum could have a clinically useful treatment effect" http://tinyurl.Com/lgr8lrx.
