A member asked:

Microalbumin level of 208. how does drinking alcohol contribute?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably doesn't: One of the few organ systems that are not specifically affected by alcohol is the kidney. However, it may be indirectly contributing if it is raising your blood pressure. Regular drinking of more than 2 drinks per day in men is associated with hypertension. The most common causes of damage to kidneys causing microalbumin in urine are hypertension and diabetes, but there are many other causes.
