Nose breather: Clean it by using a bulb syringe to suck the mucus out. Use salt water nose drops to keep the mucus flid. Yes a vaporizer or humidifier in the baby's room.Adjust the temp in the child's room68 degrees is just fine.

Saline nose drops: Saline nose drops are available in pharmacies, grocery stores, etc. Put 3-10 drops in baby's nostril, (until you hear him swallow) wait about 30-60 seconds, then insert the deflated bulb syringe (they sent it home with him from the hospital) as far as it'll go, and suction. Repeat on the other side. This should be done before feedings and as needed for comfort. A vaporizer is also helpful.
