A member asked:

How are the symptoms of l5 nerve pinching different from s1 nerve pinching?

A doctor has provided 1 answer
Dr. James Henning answered

In Brief...: L5 supplies the muscles that raise the big toe and foot & provides sensation to the top of the foot. S1 supplies the large calf muscles (those that "push") and provides both sensation to the outside of the foot and innervation for the "ankle jerk.".
