Are you a runner?: Are you a heavy exerciser or runner? If so, when skeletal muscle breaks down it releases a substance called myoglobin. This is excreted in the urine and is called myoglobinuria. It colors the urine a pinkish color. There is a simple test to detect whether or not you are excreting myoglobin. There are many other causes of myoglobinuria, many are serious. I recommend you be tested for this.
