Check strep: Most likely viral or secondary to post nasal drip. But with sx for 1 week, go get a rapid strep test, because untreated strep has other dangerous consequences.

Strep throat: Needs to be treated with antibiotics, if this is strep throat. Other common causes could be mono. Do you have a fever, fatigue. Avoid anything strenuous, or contact sports, until fully resolved.
