See a docotor: Redness, swelling and pain could indicate bleeding in the knee, a bad bruise, a bad sprain or a fracture. Serious injury is less likely if you can bear weight on that leg. Sharp pain could mean a fracture. If you cannot afford a doc, put ice on it, take aleve, (naproxen) elevate and rest it for2-3 days and if it is not much better seek medical advice.

Fracture knee cap: It is possible, you fractured your knee cap. Can you extend your leg ? I think at leas an x-ray is in order.
