Infection/allergy: Allergic reactions usually happen within hours, but can persist for days. Increasing redness and swelling after 2 days can be a sign of infection that requires antibiotics. If any fever, or red streaks, or tenderness in the groin develops, those are very serious signs of a worsening infection. Please see a doctor now.
